This class will consist of 3 hours lecture on horse safety and behavior, a half hour break, then one-hour lab to demonstrate principles.  Barn time to be followed by another hour of lecture on conventional and holistic health care with plenty of built in time for questions and answers.

All experience levels are welcome.  This class is specifically geared towards those new to horses, those who have been hurt or intimidated by horses, or equine professionals who want to learn more about recent advances in animal training and how the horse learns.   There is also an introduction to basic husbandry of the animal, including holistic health care and acupressure exam; also how the diagnostic acupressure exam, when done correctly, resolves 80% of all training problems on the ground!

Upon completion of the course, participants will have a good understanding of how animal behavior affects health and healing, common disease processes which are effectively treated through alternative medicine, and an introduction to the use of acupuncture, herbs, and homeopathy.  How to minimize injury to oneself and to the horse while delivering good quality health care.  Also, an introduction to equine behavior and training in order to facilitate more desirable behaviors and a deeper bond between horse and human.  Participants will learn why there is no such thing as good or bad behavior, and will begin to utilize the science of operant and classical conditioning to teach almost any animal (not just horses) to do almost anything!
