Did you know, I would be dead right now if it wasn’t for animals? And more than once. That’s because I first tried to commit suicide when I was 12 years old. But then, I clung to my dogs, and to my posters of horses on the walls of my inner city bedroom, and I decided to keep fighting so that one day I could achieve my dream of horses. Horse dreams saved me.
What does that mean to you? That means I can connect people to their animal passion in a way nobody else can. Few people love animals as much as I do, or know that a meaningful relationship with an animal can mean the difference between life or death. But for those who deeply love their animals like a member of the family, and want to enjoy every precious second of their short lives, then I am here for you! That is what it means when I say I am the One and only Life Coach for People with Pets!
So what does that mean for you on a practical level? Well, it means I encourage fresh foods because it’s cheaper and more nutritious than most everything coming out of a can or bag (or freezer for that matter). I give you exercises for your pet to learn how to do, from helping to rehabilitate cruciate injuries with exercises instead of surgery, to exercising your cat for their mental (overcoming behavior issues) and physical health. And that is just to name a few.
I treat every single pet, horse, or fish, and their caregiver, exactly the same as what I would recommend for my own animals, or my next door neighbors, or my mother.
I don’t encourage you to spend a bunch of money on excessive tests (that over the years I have seen not really help the pets that much, anyway), and I take the time to explain all your options, instead of just trying to sell you a bag of food that should fix all the issues without you even really understanding how or why.
Now all this might not matter to you too much, and that’s ok. Aspen Park Vet Hospital is not for everyone. If you are just looking to get your pets vaccines done at the cheapest price possible, then we are probably not a good fit.
